Before a session I will discuss your health goals and use a variety of therapy techniques in a massage therapy session to customize and best address your horse’s health and wellness needs. Depending upon the use of your horse; different disciplines will put more or less stress on certain muscles.
Below is a brief description of the types of therapy I will apply during your horse’s session.
I also offer sessions on Show Pigs, Goats, Sheep and Cattle. I am happy to be on site at state fairs and shows.
Grey Pony also does work on bucking stock to keep your four legged athletes working
Myofascial Release treats the cause of the problem and not just the symptoms which allows for the permanency of results that has been observed. Fascia is a three dimensional web of connective tissue which surrounds and infuses within every muscle, bone, organ, nerve, blood vessel, tendon and ligament in the body. In addition, it surrounds every single cell in the body as it travels in one continuous web-like sheath from head to tail in the horse’s body. This connective tissue acts as a shock absorber in the body.
MagnaWave PEMF is a non-invasive therapy consisting of pulsed electromagnetic waves being sent throughout the body to stimulate cellular repair. The MagnaWave machines have a unique electrical current that runs through a copper coil that creates a pulsing magnetic field. These are known as PEMFs. Research about PEMF has been ongoing since the 1940s. MagnaWave positively charges blood cells so that they repel one another (like-magnetic charges repel), making it impossible for them to stick together. This maximizes the ability of the blood cells to perform their tasks in the capillaries of all the major organs.
The focus of Therapeutic massage is to support overall wellness for the horse, offer relaxation, physical and emotional release, and to improve bonding with humans by providing physical contact and loving intention. It helps to boost the circulatory and immune systems, encouraging increased circulation, improved muscle tone, improved digestion, and improved skin tone. It can greatly contribute to relaxing the nervous system.
**Shawnee often recommends using MagnaWave along with other modalities to help balance the horse’s electromagnetic field promoting better health and performance.**
